What began as a humble after-school project for Ben Paterno in 1970 has blossomed over the decades into the cherished legacy that is Paterno Nurseries.
Ben and Lydia married in 1978, building both a life and legacy together. They raised one son and three daughters, instilling in them the same values of hard work, faith, and dedication that had nurtured their growing nursery.

Their son Michael, pursued Business Management at Niagara College, and soon returned to work alongside his parents, continuing the family tradition.
In 2007, Michael married Stephanie. Together, they raised their six children fostering a deep connection to nature, family, and faith. As the years passed, Stephanie became an integral part of Paterno Nurseries -- bringing not only her talents but also a shared vision for the future.
Today, their children are growing up surrounded by the very soil that shaped generations before them -- learning the rhythms of the seasons, the joy of hard work, and the quiet beauty of tending to something that grows. With each passing year, the roots of the Paterno legacy grow deeper, as the next generation begins to find its own place in the story.
