The Garden Centre is officially open for the 2017 Spring Season!
(Closed Easter Sunday, Open Easter Monday)
The trees and shrubs are stocked and annuals, perennials, planters, vegetables and herbs are arriving daily!
Come on in!
Happy first day of spring! Even though today there are still patches of snow on the ground, we have already (thankfully!) seen glimpses of spring in the last month or so. It won’t be long until the spring sun is shining warm and bright, and our winter blues will be long gone!
We have some time before it is officially safe to plant here in Ontario, but we are busy getting ready in the Garden Centre for the 2017 season and will be open soon to serve you! Keep checking back here for updates on spring hours and what’s new in stock for the spring!
We look forward to serving you this coming year for all your gardening needs!
It is with deep sadness that we share that Ben Paterno Sr. passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016. He was 97 years old, predeceased by his wife Mary.
Ben Sr. was an integral part of encouraging and guiding Ben Jr, his son, to start Paterno Nurseries over 45 years ago. In 1984, Ben and Mary moved to the farm to help with the business and the growing Paterno family.
Over the past two decades Ben has spent his time focused on his garden producing a wildly successful crop each year – even in his 97th year! He also thoroughly enjoyed cutting the lawn on the farm, to the point that his great grandchildren knew which one was Noni’s tractor!
Ben will be deeply missed by his family and long-time customers and business associates of Paterno Nurseries.
Thanks for a great 2016 season! We have again enjoyed serving all your growing needs this year. We will be back in the spring to help you make your gardens bright and beautiful!
Even though the Garden Centre is now officially closed for the season, you can still purchase Gift Certificates in any amount to give your friends and family. Call us for more information: 905-689-6035.
In case you were uncertain, let us assure you that the fall is still a great time to plant. If you put it off over the summer, let the cooler weather encourage you to get outside into your plant beds to update your gardens with flowering shrubs, evergreens, or trees. As growers of nursery stock, we have a full selection of options for you to choose from on site, listed at wholesale prices everyday. Have any questions about planting in the fall? Give us a call, and we would be happy to help!
